1900 Colorado Coal Mine (9)

KATERINA'S WISH by Jeannie Mobley
Thirteen-year-old Katerina, her two little sisters, and her parents moved from Bohemia to Colorado to buy the farm of her father's dreams, but life in the coal camp where they move to raise money is full of hard work, little funds, and dangerous mines, but Katerina never gives up on hoping that the farm dream will come true. This MG novel is rich is setting, lovely characters, and an MC with spirit. I loved the interwoven Czechy tales from Katerina's homeland, and the pitch perfect ending. Great historical MG. (Margaret K. McElderry, 2012)

It is super sweet! Just the type of historical MG novel I love. I'm also waiting for WILLFUL IMPROPRIETY to arrive in my library (just ordered it)!
